Hello!

LA –¬†I am collecting the last of the novel units tomorrow.

The entire class has been writing haiku and some of the students are also writing limericks. We started an acrostic poem today based on their name. These are the beginnings of a poetry unit. More poems to come!

MATH –¬†Ask your child how they did on their test. They were returned today. We also started a unit on money.

SOCIALS STUDIES –¬†Chapter 10 test tomorrow! Words so far: spawn, magnetism, 5 kinds of salmon, commercial fishing and sport fishing,¬†catch¬†and release, gang knives and cannery. They should also review the 2 worksheets we completed in class. Most of the students¬†were¬†able to print up a review¬†crossword¬†made on Armoured¬†Penguin. Some had trouble printing. Review and reread the chapter to prepare!

SCIENCE –¬†Just beginning chapter 7.

FRENCH –¬†En¬†hiver¬†booklet due tomorrow.¬†

PE – Badminton tourney continues!

ART –¬†Tessellations and/or posters advertising our Winter Carnival next month. I hope you are able to attend!

The theme for January Student of the Month is determination. There can sometimes be a let down after first term and after enjoying two weeks off. This month I am looking for a student who is able to keep their nose to the grindstone and work hard day in and day out just because it is the right thing to do. Hence, the background pic.

Have a great weekend!

Cheers!
