LA  – We finished the novel. Their story maps are due Friday.

MATH – We are up to page 70 in the work book. Today we began multiplying two digits by two digits. No homework, but… it wouldn’t hurt to practice!

See attachment for instructions at home. I hope it helps. 2-digit multiplying

SOCIAL STUDIES – Chapter three TEST is Thursday, December 18. Vocabulary so far: emigration, immigration (immigrant), push factors, pull factors, pros, cons, American Revolution, homestead, loyalist, Underground Railroad, slaves, plantations, American Civil War, abolish, Pacific Rim, Chinatown and prejudice. We will finish the chapter tomorrow. All students have a text book and can take it home and re-read the chapter if they like.

SCIENCE – No new homework.

FRENCH – No new homework.

PE – Indoor games. Student grades are based on participation, effort, improvement and sportsmanship/fair play.

ART – Door art is to be completed on own time. We are finishing up our snowman project (thanks to SEA Melissa for the neat idea!) and our Christmas card.

Forms for skating times in 2015 are going home today.

A reminder that our concert rehearsal is Wednesday at 1 pm. The concert date is Thursday at 1 pm. Either performance will be terrific! Ms. Cromarty has asked for students to wear black bottoms and white tops, if possible. Christmassy attire (hats, antlers etc.) is optional.

Cheers!

December 6

Monday will officially be the beginning of second term.

Congratulations to Room 108 for winning the Best Decorated Door at Coquihalla! It was a very close contest with many excellent entries on the threshold of framing their own door prize. In the end, Room 108 unlocked the competition and found a way in to the judges hearts. It was a sweet victory. Well done, students!

Have a great weekend! See you Monday!

Cheers!

Wednesday, Dec. 3

Just a reminder that we have a math test tomorrow and a science test on Friday.

For math this week we will have worked on 3 review worksheets. Students can also try some of there word problems on page 61 in their workbooks. The test is on place value, expanded form, addition with carrying and subtraction with borrowing.

For the chapter 6 test in science they will have a review crossword today. We will also have a review tomorrow. Re-reading the chapter, studying their notes and looking for connections between body systems will help them prepare for the test.

I am away from school today.

Cheers!
