LA – We’ve been working on grammar. Ask your child to give you a synonym and antonym for: fast, glad and simple.
MATH – Subtract 54 376 – 38 559. Then add to check your answer. (It’s the fact family!)
SOCIALS – Chapter 1 TEST will be returned as soon as all students have written the test. Tests are stored here at school in student folders so that they are available for parents/guardians for school meetings.
SCIENCE – Chapter 4 Test on Thursday, October 6th. Please start to review the vocab from the digestive and respiratory systems. Vocabulary: cells, tissues, organs, body systems, digestion, nutrients, digestive process, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, colon, respiratory system, oxygen, trachea, lungs, diaphragm, inhale, exhale and carbon dioxide. Two key diagrams are on page 89 and 93.
FRENCH – Working on a school booklet.
ART – New project next week.
PE – Working on fitness through 10 minute activity every morning and twice a week in PE class. Distance running, indoor game skills, participation, effort, fair play and safety all contribute to the letter grade earned.
PLANNERS – Students should be bringing home their planners each day. All work on our class homework board is to be copied into their planners even if they have finished in class. That way parents and guardians at home know what is going on. If you could ask to see their planners and talk about their day it could benefit their learning.
Next week, as part of our Health and Career curriculum, the Hope & Area Transition Society (HATS) will be providing students with a Violence Prevention Program. HATS staff will be visiting our school and will be facilitating 4 forty five minute lessons in the classroom.
