LA – We started a novel called, “The Whipping Boy.” Lots of interesting vocabulary, such as: defiantly, roused, gloat, obliged and dreadful. Ask your child if they remember what each word (and more) mean.
MATH – We had an addition and subtraction quiz today. The students will know their scores on Monday.
SCIENCE – We’ll begin chapter 5 next week.
SOCIALS – Chapter one test was today and students will know their scores on Monday.
FRENCH – We began a new unit on “school” with vocabulary such as stylo, crayon, gomme, ordinateur, bibliotéque and chaise. Can your child remember what they mean?
PE – Participation, effort, fair play and leadership all contribute to the letter grade they will earn in PE.
ART – Foil art will be finished off on Wednesday. All other art projects are overdue and need too be completed as homework.
We skate on Monday after lunch. If your child has their own skates and helmet they can bring them. if not, the school and arena will provide skates and helmets at no cost. I reccommend that students also bring mitts or gloves. Also, we walk to the arena -rain or shine- so dress for the weather, please!
Scholastic Book fair is next week from Monday to Thursday.
Individual Picture Day is on Wednesday the 18th.
