LA – We wrote some 5-sentence paragraphs. We will continue with paragraph writing all year.
MATH – Place value and expanded form test was returned. Your child should have their score for you.
SOCIALS – Chapter one test next week. Vocabulary they should have written in their binders includes: diversity, ancestors, relief map, national anthem, native land, cultural origin, heritage, culture, census and survey, a map of the 5 regions of Canada (p. 8), Group of seven and Emily Carr. We also worked on a map of Canada’s provinces/territories and capital cities,
SCIENCE – The respiratory system is next week.
FRENCH – The new unit is all about school (ècole) and the vocabulary that goes with it. E.g. crayon = ________, stylo = __________, gomme = __________, cahier = ___________, livre = ____________, chaise = _____________, regle = ____________, porte = _____________.
ART – Completing our Dream Job project. Respect posters are now overdue.
PE – A focus on playing fair with sportsmanship and safe play.
A few housekeeping notes:
The swimming form went home to be signed and returned.
We skate on Monday and walk to the arena rain or shine! Dress for the weather! I also recommend you dress warmly for the arena. Bring a good jacket as well as mitts or gloves. Bring skates and helmets if you have, otherwise you can use the arena’s equipment at no charge.
